APPLICATION FIELDS OF STYRONIT INSULATION MATERIAL

Styronit has the following features:

  • low density,
  • high thermal and sound insulation properties,
  • climatization property,
  • ease of application,
  • high plasticity,
  • elasticity against seismic loads and activities,
  • excellent durability under severe atmospheric conditions,
  • long service life,
  • has a natural texture
  • cost effective compared to substitutes

Owing to the above mentioned superior properties, Styronit finds application opportunities in various industrial sectors where especially enegy savings and insulation are of prime importance.

The main application areas of Styronit Insulation Material are construction sector and building insulation. Besides that it can be used as in the board form in the sectors; i.e. automotive, marine, packaging etc. where thermal insulation and sound absorption are of high importance.

The figure below shows the basic application possibilities of Styronit in construction sector:

Styronit Insulation Material, according to the value of dry density after application, is manufactured and used as three distinct products. These are the types with 150 kg/m3, 250 kg/m3 and 450 kg/m3 densities. Styronit with dry density of 150 kg/m3, is used as heat and sound insulation element usually for the surfaces of interior parting walls. As for Styronit with dry density of 250 kg/m3 is applied as heat and sound insulation material for the all building sections and surfaces of the walls.  For insulation of the exterior surfaces on freeboard (inundation level), Styronit with dry density of 450 kg/m3 is especially preferred.

        AUTOMOTIVE AND MARITIME SECTOR :

  • As lining material for heat and noise insulation in automobiles,
  • As insulation material for air conditioned semi-trailer transport,
  • In sections of vessels and ships where heat and sound insulation required.

          PACKAGING SECTOR :

  • Insulation of packing used for temperature-sensitive export goods,
  • Insulation of packing used for export goods sensitive to atmospheric conditions.

         INDUSTRIAL SECTOR :

  • Thermal insulation of liquified gas tanks,
  • Thermal insulation of water tanks of solar heating system,
  • Thermal insulation of refrigerators and freezers etc.,
  • Sound absorption of the equipments creating noise contamination.
